Radboud University Nijmengen (Project Lead) – Geography, Planning and Environment

The team of Radboud University Nijmegen (RU) consists of five researchers working at the Nijmegen School of Management (NSM). This faculty combines academic research and education in the fields of public administration, political science, economics, business studies, geography, environment, and spatial planning. Next to many educational programmes at bachelor and master level, research is organised in interdisciplinary groups, which, amongst other, seek to improve our understanding of frictions between territorial governance structures and social, economic, and environmental processes in space.

University of Vienna – Workgroup for Applied Geography, Spatial Research and Spatial Planning

The team of the Professorship for Applied Geography, Spatial Research and Spatial Planning is a work group for interdisciplinary research and teaching at the Institute for Geography and Regional Research of the University of Vienna. The thematic focuses are anchored in the following areas: “Spatial Research and Spatial Planning”, “Urban Research” and “Demography, Migration and Integration“. The spatial perspective concentrates on the national and European context, including transatlantic comparisons. The working group’s aspiration is to produce socially relevant and trend-setting insights. Within research and teaching, a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research methods are applied, as well as geographic information systems and visualization possibilities. The team also attaches great value to new forms of cooperative knowledge generation (doctoral colleges, research platforms, international study courses).

The Faculty of Architecture, Middle East Technical University (METU) is a leading school of architecture and planning in Turkey. The METU team is from the Department of City and Regional Planning. The Department provides expertise in urban design and planning of cities. The department has a number advanced education and research areas. In addition to City and Regional Planning, Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments as well as Urban Design are among the specialization areas. Some of the international research projects are on housing policies, climate change, resilience of cities, disaster risk mitigation and diversity.

The firm specializes in the analysis of socioeconomic, demographic and spatial developments in Switzerland with a particular emphasis on housing market related questions. This includes location analysis, population forecasts, research on changing migration patterns, urban renewal and gentrification or studies on the impact of immigration on the quality of housing of different population segments. Raumdaten GmbH supports and consults investors, planers and authorities in the areas of demographics, urban development and real estate economics. Customers include various Municipalities in Switzerland, amongst them the city of Zurich, think thanks such as Avenir Suisse as well as Implenia, Switzerland’s leading construction and construction services company.
